In 2025, the Medical Renal Pathology Working Group completed development of the first edition of Knowledge and Skills Competency Expectations for Anatomic Pathology Residents in Medical Renal Pathology. The document was created to provide guidance on the foundational knowledge and skills residents should acquire during training in this specialized area of pathology.
The completed resource will be available on the ABPath website and serve as a reference for residents, educators, and training programs. We encourage residents and fellows to use this as a general guide for competency but please recognize this is not the final version. We anticipate similar guides on other topics will come in the future.
