Effective July 1, 2026, the American Board of Pathology (ABPath) will transition diplomates who received their primary certification in 1975 or earlier and do not hold an active medical license into Retired status. Diplomates transitioned to Retired status under this policy will not be required to meet additional retired status requirements. Please see the FAQs for common questions about the Retired Status Update.
