Thank you for your participation in the American Board of Pathology’s CertLink® (ABPCL) Program! This program is a longitudinal assessment of knowledge with immediate feedback that beginning in 2022 replaces the 10-year Continuing Certification (CC) exam for continuing board certification.

This July, the American Board of Pathology (ABPath) will be launching a new, upgraded CertLink Platform. To implement the upgrades, there will be a short break when ABPCL will be unavailable. We expect this upgrade to last approximately two weeks, starting Thursday, July 1, 2021 and finishing Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the earliest. Once the upgrade is complete you will receive an email informing you that the system is available and you can log in and design your new assessment. Please note you will be required to reset your password for security purposes.

This upgrade will include the following enhancements:

Logging in
Multifactor authentication for login; you will be required to enter a two-factor authentication code that will be sent to the email address listed on your ABPCL profile page.

FAQs, Support, and Readiness system check will be available on both the login page and in the platform, on the upper right menu.
Unread notifications will be presented prominently in the center of your screen upon logging in. These messages can be viewed at any time by going to the Messages icon on the upper right menu.

Separate sections, or “tiles,” on your dashboard for your performance (the percentage of questions answered correctly) and your progress through the assessment (percentage of questions that have been answered).

Your performance card provides additional details about how your score is calculated. See the dashboard description under "Getting Started" in the FAQs on your login page for more information.

You can now edit or update your email address from your profile page.
Answering Questions
Improved user experience when answering questions:

• A button next to each option and a new strike-out icon make answer selection more intuitive.
• If an option is selected but you don't submit your answer before the time runs out, the selected option will be automatically submitted as your answer.
• Highlighting is now automatic when you select text in the question.
• Refreshing the browser page while answering a question will no longer automatically score the question as incorrect.
• Note: A question will still be scored as incorrect if a selection is not made before the 5 minutes expires.

If you have any questions, please contact ABPath at
